The exciting DaggerXL project for The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall has just released a new update. While not so much a mod but rather a complete engine rebuild similar to Morrowind’s OpenMW, I have decided to cover these projects on Mod Sentry (so expect coverage on OpenMW and other engine rebuilds such as SWGEmu in the future). These projects are great ways to put new life into old games.
This update has brought Dungeon Support into the engine, now you can actually visit most the dungeons in-game which is a big step forward for the project. Currently there are several dungeons that still have issues such as Daggerfall Castle, Wayrest and Sentinel. The teleporters are also not working yet and the lack of automapping has been compensated for with a temporary hotkey to bring you to the exit of the dungeon (F10). I must say that I’m looking forward to future updates as a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series having first played Morrowind by chance a long time ago. Since I often hear such rave reviews of Daggerfall I am really eager to get my paws on it and I’m probably going to do it with DaggerXL!
